Christian Stewardship is about our response to the gifts that we have received from God. It concerns the use of our time, talents and treasure for the work of the church, and our care for all of God’s creation. As Christians we seek God’s guidance on how we should use His gifts to us. Christian Stewardship is about being the people that God wants us to be.
- How we spend our time
- How we care for our body and make healthy choices
- How we use our money
- How we choose to use our talents and gifts
- How we manage our relationships
- How we care for the environment
- How we practise our faith
We are called as individuals and as congregations into God’s mission. We participate by giving the gifts that God has entrusted to us. These gifts are our time, our talents and abilities, and our treasure or physical resources. Christian stewardship covers all aspects of our lives
Christian Giving is about what we use for others, including the giving of a portion of our time, our talents and our treasure – our money. This giving enriches the lives of others. Our giving supports the work of the church through worship, mission and service, and thus enables the sharing of the Gospel. Christian Giving is sacrificial giving; a response to God’s sacrificial giving in Christ:
"For God loved the world so much that He gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life."
John 3 v 16
STEWARDSHIP OF TALENTS 2017
This is the third year of our Stewardship series. During 2017 we will focus on the stewardship of talents as part of the three- year cycle of review, having already considered time and treasure. We issued a letter from Stewart along with the summer Crosswind. You can view the letter here.
The Stewardship of Talents article from the Spring Crosswind is available here.
Gift Aid Giving
Did you know that the church can claim 25p for every £ given if the donor is a UK taxpayer and signs a Gift Aid declaration? This is true whether payments are made by regular standing order, via freewill envelopes, or by other identifiable means. For more information, or to set up/amend an existing arrangement please contact the Gift Aid Convener, Andrew Jones.
